Welcome to SAILFIT Fitness Training!
SAILFIT is not just about sailing. The Fitness side of the business specializes
in supporting the needs of sailors but offers services to ANYONE who needs
to improve their health. With that in mind, we have created a number of
fitness programs designed to help you meet your specific needs. All SAILFIT
fitness services are provided by Meka Taulbee,
a Personal Trainer certified by the American
Council on Exercise.
- Personalized Web Page and Podcasts: With updates to your program and motivation to keep you going.

- On-line Support: You can now access Meka's tips
for success on-line - diet and exercise ideas to assist you on your
path to the ultimate goal. If you have a specific topic that you'd like
Meka to write about, contact her. Watch this
space as we plan to add an FAQ section in the future to help answer
some of the common questions we are asked.
- Fitness & Nutrition Guideline: This includes an assessment
of your fitness level and your fitness objectives. We will review your
current fitness regime, diet and lifestyle. You will receive a detailed
exercise and nutrition schedule to follow.
- Monthly phone/email consultation: An on-going program designed
to provide you with the motivation and support you need to keep on track.
Your progress is frequently monitored ensuring that your training program
remains appropriate to your needs. You have the opportunity to contact
Meka with any questions you may have or simply if you need encouragement
to keep going.
- On-Site Race Day Training: Personal training on the day of
a specific event enabling you to perform at your optimum when it really
matters. Meka will tailor your training and nutrition to best fit the
demands of the particular event. She will train with you and be on hand
to provide the motivation and support you need. Should you suffer any
aches or injuries Meka will make sure that you treat these correctly
so that you can get back in the action as quickly as possible.
- Private Event Coaching: Take Meka to your next big event for
that special one-on-one treatment. You'll benefit from the presence
of a fitness, nutrition and motivational coach helping you to stay focused
and perform at your peak level. Why think about these details when Meka
will do it for you?
- Packages A cost-effective package for the serious sailor or
crew. This can include any combination of offered services. If you need
help in other areas or are in search of something not mentioned-NO PROBLEM!
Create your own package suited to best fit your needs. Meka will work
closely with you to ensure that your training and nutrition program
is geared to fit your sailing schedule and you are obtaining optimal
results when you need it most.

"I believed it and achieved it!
At one time I found myself 55 pounds overweight. I had never had a problem with my weight before and decided I would never have one again. I made a lifestyle change and shed the weight through my own hard work and motivation.
After reaching my personal goal I took it another step further and started to train for Fitness Competitions. During this time I learned a great deal about health and fitness and myself. I knew that if I could motivate myself to change my life I could motivate anyone.
Since then I have focused on helping other people by combining my newly found passion for fitness with my existing training in Psychology and Dance and becoming a personal trainer.
